about me

Hi, I'm Jelly.

I'm a mobile hairstylist based in Houston, and I work with kids on the autism spectrum and individuals with disabilities or different abilities. But what I really do goes way beyond haircuts.

I specialize in building grooming tolerance — helping kids and adults get comfortable with something that can feel scary, overwhelming, or even impossible. Every client I work with gets a program that's built just for them. No rushing, just patience, understanding, and love.

I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Both of my parents were hairstylists, so you could say it runs in the family. I went to hair school, got licensed, and within a year I knew I needed more. I packed up and moved to Houston, and it turned out to be the best decision I've ever made.

Back then, I had no idea my path would lead me deep into the autism community. But it did, and I'm forever grateful. This community changed me. They taught me more than I could've ever imagined.

"This is about more than just hair. It's about creating a space where someone feels safe enough to be themselves — even when the world doesn't always make room for them."

I won't feel fully accomplished until there are more people doing what I do — not like me, but better. This work is needed. Everywhere.

And truthfully? This is just the beginning.
how a visit works

Built around your child, not the other way around

Every plan starts with getting comfortable — long before scissors or clippers ever come out.

Touch it first

Kids get to see, hold, and feel the tools before they're ever used — clippers, combs, capes — so nothing is a surprise.

Calm distractions

Favorite shows projected on the wall, comfort toys, and a slower pace help make the chair feel like a good place to be.

Your pace, always

If today is just a hello and a hand on the shoulder, that's a win. Progress is measured in comfort, not haircuts.

Tolerance Sessions — Challenge Accepted Program

1-hour individualized sessions for people who find haircare and grooming stressful, scary, uncomfortable, or overwhelming.

Our priority is emotional safety over a cute hairstyle. Rather than forcing someone through a grooming experience, we slow down, meet them where they are, and work together to understand what makes haircare feel difficult.

During each session, we create a tangible, individualized plan that breaks the grooming experience down into manageable micro-steps. These steps are designed to build familiarity, trust, communication, tolerance, and confidence at a pace that feels safe for the individual.

The goal extends far beyond hair. The skills developed during our sessions can help individuals become more comfortable with other areas of daily living and self-care — creating opportunities for greater independence, confidence, and participation in everyday routines.

"We aren't just working toward a haircut. We're building skills for life."
